The YWCA Hamilton MakerSpace is hosting a FREE TAX CLINIC!

YWCA Hamilton’s Centre of Innovation is offering free tax clinics in partnership with Prosper Canada, YWCA Canada, and the Social Planning & Research Council of Hamilton.

These clinics are designed to support persons or families living on less than $35,000 annually (single) or less than $45,000 (couple/family). We prioritize services for people recieving:

  • OW, ODSP, OAS, CPP, GIS
  • Seniors (aged 55+)
  • Families with children under the age of 18
  • Newcomers to Canada, living in Hamilton
  • People who are accessing shelters or are living unhoused

What to Bring

To ensure your tax return can be completed, please bring the following documents (as applicable to your situation):
  • Identification
  • Government-issued photo identification
  • Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Proof of Income
  • T4 (Employment Income)
  • T4A
  • T4A(P) (CPP Benefits)
  • T4(OAS) (Old Age Security)
  • T4RIF
  • T4E (Employment Insurance)
  • T5007 (OW, ODSP, WSIB)
  • RC62 (Canada Child Benefit)
  • T5 (Statement of Investment Income)
  • T3 (Statement of Trust Income Allocations and Designations)

Additional Documents

  • Notice of Assessment from last year’s tax return
  • Receipts (rent, property taxes, child care expenses, medical expenses, etc.)
  • Partner’s information (even if they are not filing with you)
  • Dependent information

Bringing complete documentation will help us process your return efficiently.

Participants may complete the INTAKE FORM in advance, but it is not required. Forms will also be available at the clinic.
