Located inside the Putman Family YWCA on Ottawa Street in Hamilton, the MakerSpace is a dynamic, inclusive hub dedicated to empowering women and gender-diverse people through creativity, hands-on learning, and tech exploration.

Creality Ender-3 V3 KE: 3D Printing Made Easy Learn the basics of 3D printing with our Creality Ender-3 V3 KE — a user-friendly PLA printer with a 220 x 220 x 240 mm build volume. A required learning module must be completed before use.

HP DesignJet T650 Our HP DesignJet T650 wide format printer can print any inkjet project up to 36” wide! Extremely easy to use. Perfect for large scale prints like sewing pattern templates or photography prints.

Cricut Explore 3 Our Cricut Explore 3 cuts paper, vinyl, leather, and more with precision. It’s also equipped with a pen adapter for drawing and pen-plotting.

The MakerSpace is equipped with MacOS and Windows desktops, pre-loaded with software to help users create, learn, and explore. Installed programs include: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Blender, Python, and more!.

Laptop Computers

Laptops are available for loan when using certain MakerSpace devices, including 3D printers, CNC machines, and the Cricut Machine. Each laptop comes preloaded with the necessary software to operate these machines

Tablets

Tablets are available for booking. These are great for group work or as a portable device while using one of our worktables. Note: Tablets must remain inside the MakerSpace.

Raspberry Pi

The MakerSpace features Raspberry Pi 400 desktop Linux machines. Each setup includes a Raspberry Pi 400, keyboard, mouse, and monitor. These mini-computers are excellent for learning about computer systems, coding in Scratch and Python, or getting familiar with Linux-based operating systems.
